The De Vere Group
As you may have read in the press, the De Vere group was recently taken over by AHG Venice Ltd, an independent venture by some of the directors of Marylebone, Warwick, Balfour Group PLC.
MWB owns a network of serviced business centres and some well-known brands including Malmaison, Hotel Du Vin, and Liberty PLC – the famous London department store.
With the new corporate structure in place, AHG plans to grow De Vere as a luxury hotel brand – based on hospitality, luxury and facilities – and to seek the benefits of synergies between De Vere and its other interests in the business conference sector.
Amongst the existing De Vere brands, The Village Hotels and Leisure Clubs will be expanded to create a national chain of around 50 hotels, and fresh investment in GJ Greenalls will help to boost the market share already enjoyed by its quality gin brands.
At De Vere Resort Ownership, our first priority is to complete The Carrick, including the spa, golf course, multi-purpose courts, and children’s activity centre. The new owners have also given us the go-ahead for the next phase of lodge development.
